Meet Your Registered Psychologist

My name is Amanda Nolan. I am a registered psychologist with several years of experience providing a range of evidence-based therapies that enhance mental health support for various presentations. My background includes working in private practice, rehabilitation settings, and child and family services. I am dedicated to ongoing professional development, continually deepening my knowledge of contemporary therapeutic approaches.

I value the therapeutic relationship as a crucial foundation for change, collaborating with clients to build insight, strengthen coping strategies, and support them in reconnecting with their values and sense of self.

I enjoy providing psychological services to children, adolescents, and adults ranging from 14 to 70 years old.

My current qualifications include:

- Full Registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

- Post Graduate Diploma of Advanced Psychology

- Bachelor of Psychological Science

My approach is warm, grounded, and collaborative, integrating evidence-based therapies with a strong focus on safety, understanding, and individualized care. I operate from a neuroaffirming and trauma-informed perspective, recognizing the importance of adapting therapy to each person’s lived experience.

Presentations I currently work with

My training and experience encompass a range of presentations, including evidence-based therapies for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, child sexual assault, adult sexual assault, and domestic violence. I also provide mental health support for disordered eating and body image concerns (see Support page). Additionally, I offer various psychological services related to neurodiversity, including ADD, ADHD, assessments, ASD, and learning difficulties, as well as couples, relationship, and family counseling. I am equipped to address high levels of risk, including suicide and self-harm, along with personality disorder traits. My collaboration with the NDIS is currently pending review, and I work closely with SIRA (CTP / WorkCover), the Police Force, and Defence Force Personnel.

My current exclusion criteria include the following: homelessness as the primary concern, bulk billed services, active psychosis or schizophrenia requiring hospitalization, perpetrators of domestic violence or sexual assault, forensics/medico/legal reports, dementia or Alzheimer's, significant intellectual disabilities, and DVA.
