Relationship Therapy

At Mimind Psychology, we take a thoughtful and grounded approach to couples counselling and family therapy, supporting couples and families in a space where each person can feel heard, understood, and supported. Our therapy focuses on strengthening connection, improving communication, and exploring patterns that may contribute to conflict, emotional disconnection, perfectionism, anxiety, or distress within relationships.

Therapy is guided by a strong focus on the therapeutic relationship and an understanding that coping patterns, emotional reactions, and relational difficulties often develop in response to earlier experiences, vulnerability, or unmet emotional needs. This process supports individuals and families in better understanding themselves and one another while developing healthier and more flexible ways of relating.

The work is collaborative, meeting clients where they are while gently supporting meaningful change. We draw on a range of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed approaches where appropriate.

Therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and paced to feel safe, manageable, and supportive, fostering communication improvement in all our clients.
